Alerts

The system provides support for the so-called alerts, i.e. notifications intended for quick detection of specific situations during a trading session, monitoring of selected securities, as well as for displaying specific information if the user-defined conditions are met.

By using alerts you can assign the system to track information provided by the Warsaw Stock Exchange and check whether any interesting events happened.

Exemplary situations that can be detected by the system once you define appropriate alerts:

  • exceeding a specified level of trading value/volume,
  • a large increase or decrease in the security price in relation to its previous close,
  • significant fluctuations in the security price during a session (a big difference between the day`s low and high price),
  • a high bid volume for a security (at the best bid price),
  • a large price move on a single trade (change from the previous trade price) accompanied by a high trading volume,
  • the best ask volume several times higher than the best bid volume,
  • the security price approaching the session maximum,
  • a large transaction at the session minimum price,
  • other events depending on the user`s requirements and user-definable combinations of conditions.

Alert definition

In order to define a new alert, open the Alert definition window (by choosing Define new alert from the Alerts menu). In this window, type in the message text to be displayed once the predetermined alert conditions are fulfilled. If you define more than one condition, all of such conditions will have to be met to generate the alert message. Once the alert definition is completed, it will be activated and placed on the menu in the Alerts group (the name of your defined alert will be displayed as a menu item).

Note

  • if your alert includes any conditions that are met several times during one session (e.g.: the session trading value/volume higher than a certain level), then the alert message will be repeated (after every change of the trading value/volume above the specified level);
  • due to the specific delivery of messages by the Warsaw Stock Exchange, in certain situations the alert messages can be duplicated;
  • the CURRENT PRICE field (available when defining alerts) shall normally contain the latest trade price. However, in certain situations, e.g. when the current price is being modified or established by the stock exchange, this field will contain the value specified by the Warsaw Stock Exchange, which may affect the action of alerts containing the said parameter.

Alert modification

Once an alert is created, you can check any alert generated messages in the Executed alerts table (in the Alerts menu).

Each execution of the alert will produce a message that you have specified when defining the alert. The messages table is scrolled automatically to show the newly generated message. The user-defined alerts included in the Alerts menu can be modified. Having moved the cursor to the alert displayed on the menu, you will be offered the following options:

  • Alert activation/deactivation - this option allows to activate or deactivate the alert.
  • Alert edition - this option is available upon clicking the Edit... function in the alert context. It will launch the selected alert definition window. The window will pop up in the edit mode, i.e. including the previously defined alert attributes.
  • Alert deletion - this option is available upon clicking the Delete function in the alert context. It will delete the selected alert.
